Summer Rock Camp was founded in 2004 by Michael Finley. Students immerse themselves completely in music for a week long day session and then showcase their skills and songs they learned in front of family and friends on Friday or Saturday evening. Find out what its like to be in a real rock band for a week ... !?

Mike Finley is a long time Palo Alto, California resident and well regarded music teacher in the local area with an average of 40 private music students yearly. He also performs monthly at Zoe's Café in Menlo Park, California.

Campers typically come by themselves or with friends and form bands for the week.

Bands typically consist of two guitarists, one bassist, one drummer, one singer, and one keyboardist. We also welcome horns (trumpets, etc.) and woodwinds (saxophones, etc.).

This is a “real” music camp.  What you learn here applies to all the music you will play afterwards.

In addition to forming a band, students attend camp workshops, jam with lots of other musicians, go through a recording session, and put on a rock concert.

Summer Rock Camp maintains a 4:1 student to teacher ratio. Ages 7 to 18.
